Ohio Counties

Paulding County is western Ohio, right on the Indiana border. It’s a flat region in Ohio. The county’s part of the Great Black Swamp region.

Perry County sits in southeastern Ohio. The Wayne National Forest occupies much of the southern half. New Lexington is the county seat.

Pickaway County is in the heart of Ohio, south of Columbus. Circleville is the county seat, which is famous for its Pumpkin Show.

Southern Ohio is where Pike County calls home. It’s rural and proud of it. Waverly serves as the county seat.

Northeast Ohio is home to Portage County. Kent State University is here. Ravenna is the county seat with lots of surrounding lakes.

Preble County lies on Ohio’s western edge, bordering Indiana. Eaton serves as the county seat. Fort Saint Clair Park is just outside Eaton.

Putnam County is in Northwest Ohio. It’s flat here. Ottawa is the county seat and sits on the Blanchard River and US Highway 224.

Richland County is in the heart of north-central Ohio. Manufacturing, agriculture and healthcare are the economy. Mansfield is the county seat.

South-central Ohio is home to Ross County. Chillicothe is the county seat, and it holds the distinction of being Ohio’s first capital.

Sandusky County sits in northwest Ohio, with Fremont serving as the county seat. The city is known as the home of Rutherford B. Hayes.

Scioto County is located in south-central, bordering Kentucky. The area is known for its natural beauty with hiking and camping opportunities.

North-central Ohio is where Seneca County calls home. Tiffin is the county seat. But Fostoria is another major city.

Western Ohio is home to Shelby County. Sidney is the county seat. Named after Isaac Shelby, the county is bisected by the Great Miami River.

Stark County is in Northeast Ohio. Canton is the county seat, famous as the birthplace of the NFL. The Pro Football Hall of Fame is here.

Summit County is located in northeast Ohio. Akron is the heart of the county. Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company was born here.
