Dorchester County, Maryland
The Eastern Shore of Maryland is home to Dorchester County. It’s the largest county by area in the state, with close to half of its 983 square miles covered by water.

Dorchester County has Maryland’s lowest average elevation, with much land barely above sea level. The terrain is predominantly flat with extensive tidal marshes. Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge covers a large portion of the central area.
