The Eastern Shore of Maryland is home to Dorchester County. It’s the largest county by area in the state, with close to half of its 983 square miles covered by water.

Locals call it “the heart of Chesapeake country”. Fishing and crabbing are a way of life here. Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge sprawls across 28,000 acres. Its tidal marshes are great for bird watching.

The county seat, Cambridge, sits on the Choptank River and has a nice historic district. Dorchester County’s waterfront views and rich history make it a peaceful escape on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
