Lowndes County sits in the heart of south Georgia, right on the Florida line. Valdosta is the county seat and the biggest city in the county. It’s also home to Valdosta State University.

The county has a rich history dating back to 1825. Since then, agriculture is still big with crops like cotton, tobacco, and pecans. Wild Adventures Theme Park brings in visitors from all over the Southeast.

Downtown Valdosta is a charmer, with its historic buildings and local shops. The Withlacoochee and Little River offer great spots for fishing and kayaking. Moody Air Force Base is a major presence, bringing folks from all over the country to the area.
