Orange County, Florida
Don’t be confused, this isn’t the O.C. from California. It’s Florida’s Orange County. Orlando, the county seat, puts it on the map with theme parks galore. Disney World and Universal Studios draw millions of tourists each year.
But there’s more to the county than Mickey Mouse. Downtown Orlando has a growing food and arts scene. Winter Park offers swanky shops and boat tours through cypress-lined canals. You’ll find plenty of lakes for water sports and fishing.
The University of Central Florida brings youthful energy to the east side. Traffic can be a nightmare, especially around the attractions. Orange County is a mix of tourist traps and local haunts. It’s where you can ride world-class roller coasters in the morning and catch an indie band at night.
