Petroleum County, Montana

Petroleum County is right in the heart of Montana. It only has about 500 people living here, making it the least populous in Montana. It’s named after the oil boom of the 1920s, but these days it’s all about cattle and wheat.
Winnett, the county seat, is basically a wide spot in the road. But don’t let that fool you. This place has character. Locals are few, but they’re as friendly as they come. You want peace and quiet? This is your spot.
The landscape is pure Montana. It has rolling prairies that stretch to the horizon. The fishing here is pretty decent, if you can find your way to it. And if you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the prairie dogs popping up from their towns.
