Schenectady County, New York

Schenectady County is in the middle of New York’s Capital Region. It’s got an interesting mix of urban and rural areas. Schenectady is the main city, which has a cool history as an industrial powerhouse. Ever heard of General Electric? It started right here.
The county’s not all about the past, though. There’s a growing tech scene now. Union College adds a nice college-town feel to parts of Schenectady. Proctors Theatre is a nice attraction for catching shows.
The Mohawk River cuts through the county, offering some sweet views and recreation spots. Outdoor lovers dig the Indian Ladder Trail in the Plotter Kill Preserve. And don’t miss the Central Park Rose Garden because it’s gorgeous in full bloom.
