Sierra County, California
Sierra County is a tiny slice of the Sierra Nevada, tucked away in the northeast. It’s California’s second-least populous county. You could almost fit everyone into a big concert hall.
The county seat, Downieville, is this little old mining town that mountain bikers love. There’s no stoplight in the whole county, if that tells you anything.
If you’re into fishing, hiking, or just getting away from it all, Sierra County is your place. Just don’t expect much nightlife… or cell service, for that matter.
