Belknap County sits in the heart of New Hampshire’s Lakes Region. It’s home to Lake Winnipesaukee, the state’s largest lake. Laconia, the county seat, hosts the annual Motorcycle Week, one of the oldest motorcycle rallies in the country.

This county is hilly, especially around the lake. Elevation varies quickly. Though mountains aren’t towering, there’s no shortage of climbs. The Belknap Mountains rise near the center. Lower elevations hug the water. Slopes give way to pockets of flat land. It’s not all wilderness because towns often sit in valleys. It’s rugged, but accessible.
