Ingham County sits in the middle of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. It’s home to Lansing, the state capital, and Michigan State University.

Michigan’s heartland is home to Ionia County. It’s in the middle of the Lower Peninsula. The Grand River flows through here.

Iosco County is in the northeast corner of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. Wilderness is here with East Tawas and Oscoda as small towns.

Iron County is located right on the Wisconsin border, about as far west as you can go before leaving the state.

Isabella County sits right in the heart of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. It’s home to Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant.

Michigan’s heartland is home to Jackson County, a place with history and nature. It’s situated in the south-central part near Detroit.

In the southwest corner of Michigan lies Kalamazoo County, a place with more character than its quirky name suggests.

Michigan’s Kalkaska County is in the northern Lower Peninsula. It sits about 30 miles east of Traverse City with forests and waterways.

Michigan’s fourth-most populous county is home to Grand Rapids, which sits in the western part of the state’s Lower Peninsula.

Michigan’s northernmost county, Keweenaw, juts out into Lake Superior like a wild, rocky fist. It’s a place of rugged beauty and history.

In the heart of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula lies Lake County, a land of forests, rivers, and small towns. Baldwin is the county seat.

Michigan’s mitten shape holds many rising stars. Lapeer County is one of them. You’ll find it in the eastern part of Lower Michigan.

Leelanau County sits at the tip of Michigan’s “pinky finger,” jutting into Lake Michigan. It has rolling hills, sandy beaches, and orchards.
