Clayton County, Georgia
Clayton County is just south of Atlanta, it’s where city meets county, kinda. Jonesboro serves as the county seat, a town with a “Gone with the Wind” connection it won’t let you forget.
These days, it’s best known for being home to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the world’s busiest. That’s brought jobs, sure, but also noise and traffic. So, you’ve definitely got your longtime residents, your airport workers, and folks just passing through.
The county is named after Augustin Smith Clayton, a judge and congressman from way back. Clayton has changed a lot over the years. Once mostly rural, now it’s diverse and suburban. Clayton County isn’t the prettiest or the richest, but it has grit. And sometimes, that’s enough.
