Contra Costa County, California
East of San Francisco Bay, Contra Costa has a bit of everything. There’s Mount Diablo, where you can see forever from up there. Richmond has oil refineries. Then, there’s Walnut Creek for shopping.
The county’s name means “opposite coast” in Spanish. Interstate 680 and Highway 4 crisscross the area. This makes it a commuter’s territory (or nightmare depends how you look at it).
While San Francisco is just a bridge away, Oakland is right nextdoor. BART runs through here with a couple of stations. That’s why plenty of folks commute to San Francisco.
