Coweta County, Georgia
Coweta County sits about 40 miles southwest of Atlanta in west-central Georgia. It’s named after the Coweta tribe of Creek Native Americans who once called this area home.
The county played a role in the Civil War, with several skirmishes fought here. Today, it’s known for its excellent schools and growing film industry. Senoia, a small town in Coweta, became famous as a filming location for “The Walking Dead”.
The county seat, Newnan, has a nice-looking downtown with historic buildings and local shops. Locals enjoy fishing and boating on Lake McIntosh. Coweta is a great place for newcomers and to raise a family.
