Gulf County, Florida
Gulf County is described as Florida’s “Forgotten Coast,” and it’s easy to see why. It’s tucked away in the Panhandle, far from the tourist crowds.
Port St. Joe serves as the county seat, a small town with a big heart. Cape San Blas juts out into the Gulf, offering pristine beaches and a lighthouse. The county is split by the Apalachicola and Jackson River.
Fishing is a way of life here, from charter boats to oyster harvesting. You won’t find high-rises or chain restaurants lining the shore. Instead, there’s plenty of natural beauty and wildlife like at St. Joseph Peninsula State Park.
