Henry County, Virginia

Henry County hugs the North Carolina border in south-central Virginia. It’s Piedmont country, gently rolling hills and hardwood forests. The county was once a powerhouse in furniture and textile manufacturing.
Those industries have declined, but Henry County is reinventing itself. Martinsville Speedway, a NASCAR short track, brings in racing fans twice a year. The New College Institute is bringing higher education opportunities to the area.
The area’s natural beauty is a big draw. Philpott Lake is perfect for boating and fishing. You’ll find some great hiking trails in the mountains to the west. Locals are friendly and proud of their heritage. Fall is especially beautiful here when the leaves change color.
