Howard County is located in the northeast corner of Iowa, bordering Minnesota. The Turkey River is a prominent geographical feature. It’s important for both agriculture and recreation.
Cresco, the county seat, is notable as the birthplace of Norman Borlaug. He’s a Nobel Peace Prize laureate known for his contributions to agriculture.
