Pasco County, Florida
People often describe Pasco County as Tampa’s backyard, and that’s not far off. It’s just north of Tampa Bay, perfect for suburban sprawl. Dade City is the county seat here.
The coast has some nice beaches without the crowds you’ll find further south. Inland, it’s all about the rivers and springs. You’ll find plenty of retirees here, drawn by the affordable housing and warm climate.
The county is growing fast, with new developments popping up constantly. Traffic is getting worse, but it’s still better than Tampa. Pasco County has a bit of an identity crisis. It’s not quite rural anymore, but not fully urban either. It’s Florida in transition, where you can still find pockets of old charm amidst the new growth.
