Prairie County, Montana

Prairie Location Map Montana

Prairie County is out in eastern Montana. It’s big sky country for real. Terry is the county seat with a whole lot of heart. The Yellowstone River cuts through the county.

You’d never guess it, but this area was once crawling with dinosaurs. Seriously. The badlands here are a goldmine for fossils.

They’ve got this “can-do” spirit that’s pretty inspiring. Farmers and ranchers have been working this land for generations. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, you’ll find it here. Just don’t expect any fancy coffee shops or malls.
