Santa Barbara County is on the coast northwest of LA. Up north, you’ve got places like Santa Maria with its famous barbecue. The county has some beautiful beaches and the Channel Islands offshore.
Highway 101 runs along the coast, connecting towns like Carpinteria and Goleta. The region’s wineries are famous. Especially in places like Los Olivos and Solvang is where you can sip Chardonnay under the California sun.
The University of California, Santa Barbara, adds a youth to the area. While Los Padres National Forest dominates the northeast, Channel Islands National Park are in the south. It’s expensive, but man, Santa Barbara County is gorgeous.
