Union County, Florida
Union County is landlocked in north-central Florida. It’s Florida’s smallest county by land area. There’s not much for beaches here. Bradford County borders it to the east.
While New River forms its southern boundary, Olustee Creek is the west side. Lake Butler, the county seat, is home to about 2,000 people. Farming and corrections are big industries here. The Union Correctional Institution employs many locals.
Despite its size, the county has a rich history dating back to the 1800s. Hunting and fishing are popular pastimes. You’ll find a tight-knit community here, where everyone seems to know each other.
