Union County, New Jersey

Union County is just west of New York City, along Newark Bay. Elizabeth is the county seat, and has a rich history dating back to colonial times. But it’s also got a busy port and has a huge IKEA. Westfield is known for its downtown and great shopping.
But you can’t talk about Union County without mentioning the Watchung Reservation. It’s a massive park with hiking trails, a lake, and even a deserted village. The county also has some serious brain power too with Kean University and Union County College.
From Portuguese in Elizabeth to Cuban in Union, there’s always something new to try for food. Union County is like a microcosm of New Jersey itself. It’s busy and quiet, historic and modern, all at once.
