Michigan’s heartland holds Gratiot County. It’s located in the middle of the Lower Peninsula, about an hour north of Lansing.

Hillsdale County is in Michigan’s southern tier, just a stone’s throw from the Ohio and Indiana borders. It has rolling hills and farmland.

Michigan’s wild Upper Peninsula is home to Houghton County. It’s a land of rugged beauty and hardy people. Snowfall is legendary here.

Located at the tip of Michigan’s Thumb, you can find Huron County. It’s surrounded by Lake Huron on three sides with lots of beaches.

Ingham County sits in the middle of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. It’s home to Lansing, the state capital, and Michigan State University.

Michigan’s heartland is home to Ionia County. It’s in the middle of the Lower Peninsula. The Grand River flows through here.

Iosco County is in the northeast corner of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. Wilderness is here with East Tawas and Oscoda as small towns.

Iron County is located right on the Wisconsin border, about as far west as you can go before leaving the state.

Isabella County sits right in the heart of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. It’s home to Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant.

Michigan’s heartland is home to Jackson County, a place with history and nature. It’s situated in the south-central part near Detroit.

In the southwest corner of Michigan lies Kalamazoo County, a place with more character than its quirky name suggests.

Michigan’s Kalkaska County is in the northern Lower Peninsula. It sits about 30 miles east of Traverse City with forests and waterways.

Michigan’s fourth-most populous county is home to Grand Rapids, which sits in the western part of the state’s Lower Peninsula.

In the heart of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula lies Lake County, a land of forests, rivers, and small towns. Baldwin is the county seat.
