Texas Counties

Tom Green County is right in the middle of West Texas. San Angelo is the county seat and has a semi-arid landscape.

The heart of Texas beats in Travis County. Austin, the state capital, dominates the scene here. It’s weird. It’s wonderful. It’s growing.

Trinity County is located in East Texas. Forests dominate the landscape. Specifically, Davy Crockett National Forest in the north.

Tyler County is deep in the Piney Woods of East Texas. Woodville serves as the county seat. Logging shaped this county’s past.

Upshur County sits in the Piney Woods of Northeast Texas. Gilmer, the county seat, is famous for its East Texas Yamboree.

The wide-open spaces of West Texas define Upton County. It’s where the sky seems endless and the horizon stretches forever.

Uvalde County is right in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Rolling hills and flat prairies. Small towns and wide-open spaces.

Val Verde County is in the southwestern part of the state, right on the Mexico border. The Rio Grande River forms the southwest boundary.

Van Zandt County is in East Texas, just southeast of Dallas. Rolling hills, piney woods, and clear streams characterize the landscape

Victoria County sits right between Houston, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi. The Guadalupe River winds its way through.

Walker County is in the Piney Woods of East Texas, about an hour north of Houston. Walker County is beautiful. Lakes, forests, state parks.

Waller County is just northwest of Houston. It’s where the coastal prairie meets the piney woods. A place of transition. Of change.

Ward County is out in the Permian Basin of West Texas. The landscape is really flat. But there’s beauty in that vastness.

Washington County is where Texas was born. Washington-on-the-Brazos, where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed, is here.

Webb County is home to Laredo and a whole lot of Texas. It’s one of the largest counties in Texas, actually. You’ll find it down south.
