Charles City County, Virginia

Charles City County is a small piece of Virginia with a whole lot of history. It’s east of Richmond, right along the James River. This place has been around since the early 1600s. Yeah, that old.
Two U.S. Presidents were born here. Not too shabby for a county with only about 7,000 people. People here are proud of their roots. They’ve got stories going back generations.
The plantations here are something else. Berkeley, Shirley, Westover… they’re all open for tours. It’s like walking through a history book. The county is still pretty rural. Lots of farms. Lots of open space. It’s quiet living, but that’s part of the charm.
