Davison County, South Dakota

Davison Location Map South Dakota

Davison County is right in the heart of southeast South Dakota. Mitchell is the county seat and is famous for its Corn Palace. It’s a quirky attraction and claims to be the world’s only corn palace.

The county got its name from Henry C. Davison, a politician. Farming is the backbone of the local economy. You’ll see plenty of cornfields around here.

The Dakota Wesleyan University campus adds some youthful energy. Fishing at Lake Mitchell is a popular pastime. Yep, this includes ice fishing in the freezing winters.
