Doddridge County is in the north-central part of West Virginia, not too far from the Ohio border. West Union is the county seat and is the heart of Doddridge County.

This place is pure country. Rolling hills, forests, and farmland. Oil and gas are big here and it always have been. The county has a long history with energy production. But it’s not all work.

Fishing in Middle Island Creek is popular with locals. Small-town charm is the name of the game. Everybody knows everybody. And man, the fall colors are something else. It’s the kind of place where you can still see the stars at night.
