Douglas County is located just west of Atlanta, so it’s a popular suburban destination. Douglasville is the largest city in the county and also is the county seat.
The county is home to Sweetwater Creek State Park with George H Sparks Reservoir nearby. Douglas County played a role in the Civil War, with several historic sites still preserved. The area has seen rapid growth in recent years, attracting new businesses and residents. Locals enjoy the county’s many parks and recreational facilities.
