El Dorado County, California
El Dorado County stretches from the Sacramento Valley to the Sierra Nevada. It’s where gold fever first hit California. These days, it’s better known for wine than nuggets.
Highway 50 cuts through the heart of the county, leading up to South Lake Tahoe. The El Dorado wine region has vineyards with views that rival the wine itself.
The Eldorado National Forest offers great camping spots. And if you watched “Lady Bird,” you might recognize some locations because they filmed scenes here.
