George County is down in the southeast corner of Mississippi. It’s a place where the air smells of pine and the Pascagoula River runs wild. Lucedale is the only city around and it serves as the county seat.

Folks here take pride in their small-town ways. You won’t find any big box stores, but you will find plenty of local shops and diners. The George County Fair brings the community together every October.

Pecan orchards are a reminder of the county’s agricultural roots. On Fridays, the high school football stadium is the place to be. Finally, visitors to the Pascagoula River Wildlife Management Area for hunting and fishing.
