Gloucester County is just south of Philadelphia, across the Delaware River. It’s a place with both farmland and suburbs. Rowan University calls Glassboro home, bringing a youthful energy to the area.

The county has deep roots in agriculture. You can still find plenty of farm stands selling Jersey Fresh produce. Mullica Hill’s main street is a trip back in time with its antique shops and historic buildings. Visitors love the trails in Scotland Run Park.

The Delaware River shapes the county’s northwestern edge with tons of recreation opportunities. Woodbury is the county seat with some modern amenities. It’s also close to Philly but keeps its own laid-back vibe. Here, you can enjoy both rural peace and suburban convenience.

The county’s shape spreads diagonally. Its northwestern boundary is carved by the Delaware River. This forms a natural, flowing border with Pennsylvania. Though the south is more squared off, it curves gently toward the southeast.
