Hamlin County, South Dakota

Hamlin County sits in eastern South Dakota, near the Minnesota border. It’s definitely lake country. You’ll also find some great camping spots around Lake Poinsett.
Estelline, the biggest town, throws a mean summer festival. But the county seat belongs to Hayti. The county’s named after Lincoln’s first vice president, Hannibal Hamlin.
Farming includes corn, soybeans, you name it. The sunflower fields in late summer are something to see. The old courthouse in Hayti is a real looker.
