Hardin Location Map Iowa

Located in central Iowa, Hardin County is bisected by the Iowa River. The county is home to Iowa Falls, a town that hugs the Iowa River. It’s also the county seat.

The county has lots of bridges. If you’re into history, the Calkins Nature Area will take you back in time. The county’s population hovers around 16,000, give or take a few farmers.

On a quiet day, you might hear the distant rumble of tractors or the splash of kayakers braving the rapids. Highway 65 and 20 are the main highways through the county. Just depends if you’re going east to Waterloo, or south to Des Moines.
