Wright County, Iowa

Wright County sits in north-central Iowa. Wright County was once nicknamed the “Creamery Capital of Iowa” due to its numerous dairy processing plants.
The Heartland Museum in Clarion preserves local agricultural history. Interestingly, Wright County is home to several massive wind farms, part of Iowa’s growing renewable energy sector.
The county is named after Silas Wright, a New York governor. While Lake Cornelia offers fishing and camping opportunities, the Boone River winds through the county and is better for canoeing and kayaking.
