Highland County is perched on the edge of Appalachia in southwest Ohio. Hillsboro is the county seat and sits right where the flatlands start to get hilly. This county has seen its share of ups and downs.

The historic downtown in Hillsboro is worth a look. You’ll find some impressive murals there. Farming’s still big business around these parts. The Rocky Fork Lake State Park is a major draw, just east of Hillsboro.
