Hubbard County, Minnesota

Hubbard County is located up in north-central Minnesota. It’s lake country, pure and simple. Park Rapids is the biggest town, but it still feels like a small resort community.
The Heartland Trail runs right through it, perfect for biking in summer and snowmobiling in winter. Itasca State Park’s the crown jewel here. You can walk across the headwaters of the Mississippi River at the rock dam. No joke.
The fishing’s insane. Walleye, northern pike, you name it. Locals swear by Lake George for the best catch. But pick any of ’em. Fall’s when this place really shines. The trees go nuts with color, and the air smells like pine and campfires.
