Issaquena County, Mississippi

Issaquena County is the smallest county in Mississippi by population with just over 1,300 residents. You’ll find it in the western part of the state, right along the Mississippi River.
The county’s history is deeply rooted in agriculture, particularly cotton farming. These days, soybeans are a major crop too. Mayersville is the county seat, but it’s barely more than a village.
Rolling farmland and dense forests dominate the landscape. Deer and wild turkeys roam freely here. It’s quiet. Really quiet. But that’s perfect for those who love nature and solitude.
