Because Martin County values its small-town feel, you won’t find any high-rise buildings here. It’s on Florida’s Treasure Coast, north of Palm Beach. Stuart, the county seat, has a downtown right on the St. Lucie River.

The county is known for its beaches and fishing. ‘Sailfish Capital of the World”, they call it. You’ll find a mix of retirees and families, drawn by good schools and low crime rates. The House of Refuge on Hutchinson Island is a reminder of the area’s maritime history.

Locals take pride in their environmental conservation efforts. Traffic isn’t bad, except during the season when snowbirds flock in. Martin County has more natural beauty than tourist traps. It’s Florida without the frenzy, where people still wave to their neighbors.
