Glades County, Florida

Glades Location Map Florida

Glades County isn’t your typical Florida hotspot. It’s tucked away in the state’s heartland, far from the beaches and theme parks. The county is mostly rural, with vast stretches of ranchland and sugar cane fields.

Moore Haven, the county seat, sits on the western shore of Lake Okeechobee. From a fisherman’s perspective, this place is paradise because the lake’s full of bass and catfish. Airboats are as common as cars in some parts. You might spot a gator sunning itself by the canal.

The Seminole Tribe has a reservation here. Glades County is quiet, but that’s how locals like it. It’s a slice of old Florida that time seems to have forgotten. Don’t come looking for nightlife. But if you want to see stars, this is your spot.
