St. Lucie County, Florida
St. Lucie County is located on Florida’s Treasure Coast. Right between flashy Palm Beach and laid-back Indian River County. Fort Pierce is the county seat. Old Florida charm there. Port St. Lucie is the biggest city. The New York Mets do spring training here.
The Navy SEAL museum in Fort Pierce is a big draw. Hutchinson Island has nice beaches without the crowds. Fishing is huge in the Indian River Lagoon and offshore. Cattlemen still run cows out west.
With lots of new developments popping up, traffic is getting worse. But you can still find quiet spots. Adams Ranch is old school Florida. Huge oaks dripping with Spanish moss. St. Lucie County is changing. But it’s not all condos and strip malls yet.
