Okanogan County, Washington

Okanogan County is up in north-central Washington, bordering Canada. It’s the state’s largest county by area. Dry sagebrush country gives way to lush mountain forests. It has more cattle than people.
The Methow Valley is a big draw, especially for cross-country skiers in winter. Summers are hot and perfect for fruit-picking. The county is known for its apples and cherries.
You’ll find some of the darkest night skies here, great for stargazing. The Okanogan River winds through the landscape, a lifeline for wildlife and agriculture. Local rodeos are a big deal. It’s the kind of place where you can still find real cowboys. The open spaces here will make you feel free.
