San Diego County, California
San Diego County is about as south as you can get in California. The city has great beaches, that world-famous zoo, and a killer craft beer scene. The county is diverse geography includes mountains, deserts, and coastal plains.
East County is more rural, with mountains and desert. There’s a big military presence with lots of Navy and Marines. Interstate 5 runs along the coast. This makes it easy to explore everything from La Jolla’s cliffs to the surf spots in Encinitas.
With a population of over 3.2 million, it’s one of the most populous counties in the state. The weather is pretty much perfect year-round. But don’t tell everyone or they’ll all move here.
