Stanislaus County is right in the middle of the Central Valley. Modesto is the biggest city and county seat. It’s where “American Graffiti” was set, if you’re into old movies.

There’s a lot of agriculture, including almonds and peaches. The population is around 565,000, with communities that are proud of their farming roots. 

The county is named after the Stanislaus River, which flows through the region. Highway 99 runs through the county, connecting it to the rest of the valley and beyond.
