Merced County, California
Merced County is in the Central Valley, right in the middle of farm country. Merced is the biggest city, and it’s home to the newest UC campus.
There’s a lot of dairy farms – it smells… interesting in some places. Merced’s motto is “Gateway to Yosemite”, but that’s a bit of a stretch. It’s more like “Gateway to more farms.”
The county is home to Merced National Wildlife Refuge, which is cool if you’re into birds. So hey, if you like wide open spaces and fresh produce, Merced isn’t that bad.
