The northeastern corner of New Mexico is home to Colfax County. This place has seen its share of Wild West action with gunslingers

Big sky country meets the high plains in Curry County. It’s way out in eastern New Mexico, right on the Texas border. Clovis is the main town.

De Baca County sits right in the middle of eastern New Mexico. Fort Sumner is the county seat. It’s where Billy the Kid’s grave is located.

Doña Ana County sits in southern New Mexico, right up against Texas and Mexico. It holds Las Cruces, the second-largest city in the state.

Southeastern New Mexico is oil country, and Eddy County is at the heart of it. Carlsbad, the county seat, is known for its caverns.

Grant County is in southwestern New Mexico, bordering Arizona. It’s a place with a rich mining history. Silver City is the county seat.

Guadalupe County sits right in the heart of eastern New Mexico. Santa Rosa is the county seat. It’s known as the “City of Natural Lakes”.

Harding County is up in the northeastern corner of New Mexico. It’s one of the least populated counties in the state.

Hidalgo County is way down in the boot heel of New Mexico. It’s about as far south and west as you can get in the state.

Lea County sits in the southeastern corner of New Mexico, right up against Texas. It’s oil country, plain and simple.

Lincoln County sits in the middle of southern New Mexico. This is Billy the Kid country. The famous Lincoln County War happened right here.

Los Alamos County is located in northern New Mexico’s mountains. It’s home to the renowned Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Mora County is nestled in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of northeastern New Mexico. It’s a patchwork of forests, meadows, and streams.

Luna County sits right on the Mexican border in southern New Mexico. Deming is the county seat, located in the center.

Southern New Mexico is home to Otero County. White Sands National Park is the star attraction. It’s a sea of gypsum dunes in the west.
