Harding County, New Mexico

Harding County is up in the northeastern corner of New Mexico. It’s one of the least populated counties in the state. Wide open spaces are the norm here. But the Canadian River cuts through the western border, creating dramatic canyons.
Mosquero, the county seat, is tiny. But it’s got charm to spare. This is ranch country. The grasslands seem to stretch on forever. It’s a birdwatcher’s paradise. Sandhill cranes stop here during migration.
The night sky is incredible without any light pollution for miles. Winters are harsh, summers are mild. Harding County is a place that feels untouched by time.
