US Counties

Benton County sits comfortably in eastern Iowa. The Cedar River meanders through the county. Vinton is its county seat off Highway 218.

Waterloo and Cedar Falls anchor Black Hawk County, making it one of Iowa’s urban centers. The county hums with industry.

Boone County is situated right in the middle of Iowa. Trains define Boone County. The Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad chugs through.

Bremer County is located in northeastern Iowa. It’s where you’ll find Waverly, a town known for its strong German heritage.

Buchanan County is nestled in the northeastern part of Iowa. It’s where the Wapsipinicon River winds its way through the landscape.

Buena Vista County in northwest Iowa is where agriculture meets lakeside living. Storm Lake has everything from boating to a beautiful beach.

Butler County is located in the northeastern part of the state. The Shell Rock River cuts through, creating some of the prettiest scenery.

Calhoun County sits right in the middle of Iowa. It’s about as landlocked as you can get compared to other counties with Twin Lakes.

Carroll County is at the divide between western Iowa’s Loess Hills and central Iowa’s flatter terrain. Carroll is the biggest town and seat.

Cass County rides the crest of Iowa’s southern hills in the southwest. Atlantic is the county seat, famous for its Coca-Cola Bottling Plant.

Cedar County got its name from the Cedar River, which cuts across its southwestern half. Tipton, the county seat, sits in the middle.

Cerro Gordo County is home to Clear Lake, a summer playground for north-central Iowa. Mason City is the county seat and biggest town. 

Cherokee County sits in the heart of northwest Iowa’s farm country. The county has a relaxed pace, perfect for those looking to escape.

Chickasaw County tucks into northeast Iowa’s rolling hills. New Hampton, the county seat, is proud of its “Dairy Center” connection.

Clarke County perches on the edge of southern Iowa’s hills. Osceola is in the middle of the county and greets I-35 drivers with its courthouse.
