Cedar County, Iowa

Cedar County got its name from the Cedar River, which cuts across its southwestern half. Tipton, the county seat, sits right in the middle of the county like a bull’s-eye.
Visitors enjoy Herbert Hoover National Historic Site in West Branch, birthplace of the 31st president. For a quiet escape, Bennett County Park also offers trails and fishing ponds.
U.S. Highway 30, the historic Lincoln Highway, runs through the northern part of the county. Then, there’s I-80 which cuts through the southern half. Both highways make easy drives for anyone going through Cedar County.
