Walton County, Florida
Walton County is in the Florida Panhandle, known for its beaches and coastal dune lakes. DeFuniak Springs, the county seat, has some cool Victorian architecture. Fishing’s big here, both in the Gulf and the Choctawhatchee River.
Seaside is probably the most famous, or better yet, check out Grayton Beach for a more laid-back vibe. The beaches here have sugar-white sand and clear water. Inland, it’s all rural and peaceful.
30A is the place to be as it’s a scenic highway with cute beach towns. You’ll find good seafood and Southern cooking everywhere.
