Washington County, Rhode Island

Washington County is down in South County. That’s what the locals call it. Washington County is the laid-back corner of Rhode Island. It takes up the whole southwest part of the state. The pace is slower here.
Beaches for days here. Misquamicut, Narragansett has some of the best sand you’ll find in New England. The fishing industry is still kicking in Point Judith. Westerly, on the Connecticut border, has a cool artsy scene going on.
You want quaint coastal villages? Washington County’s got ’em. Places like Wickford and Watch Hill ooze New England charm. People actually wave to their neighbors. It’s not all picture-perfect, though. But overall? Washington County is a piece of coastal paradise.
