Bedford County is right in the middle of Tennessee. It’s farm country, with rolling hills and wide-open spaces. There’s a strong sense of community here because local festivals bring everyone together.
Shelbyville, the county seat, is known as “The Walking Horse Capital of the World”. Every year, the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration draws huge crowds. It’s really close to Tennessee so it does get a lot of attention.
The Duck River flows through the county with great spots for fishing and canoeing. Visitors appreciate the county’s Civil War sites. The nearby whiskey distilleries are worth checking out too. And man, the sunsets over the farmlands are hard to beat.
