Brazoria County, Texas

The Texas Gulf Coast wouldn’t be the same without Brazoria County. It’s just south of Houston, stretching all the way to the Gulf of Mexico. Angleton is the county seat, but Pearland is the biggest city. Both places are growing fast, too.
The beaches are a big draw. Surfside, Quintana. They’re all here. Brazos Bend State Park is famous for its alligators. Yeah, real ones. The economy is diverse. Petrochemicals, agriculture, tourism. They’ve all got a place.
The San Bernard and Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge are both bird-watcher’s paradises. This county is a place of contrasts with old and new. Rural and urban. Pure Texas, with a coastal twist.

PHYSICAL MAP
Brazoria County Topographic Map
Brazoria is a low-lying coastal county shaped by water. The defining feature is the broad, flat delta formed by the Brazos River. Elevation is minimal, with much of the land barely above sea level. Marshes, barrier islands, and floodplains cover the southeast region. Slight rises inland give way to more stable terrain.
